Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

What is EBD?
Our Approach
Key Features of Our EBD Services:
- Individualised Care Plans : Each child receives a personalised care plan tailored to their specific needs, challenges, and strengths. This plan is developed in collaboration with the child, their family, and relevant professionals to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive approach to care.
Therapeutic Support :
- One-on-One Therapy: Our qualified therapists provide individual therapy sessions, using evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help children understand and manage their emotions and behaviours.
- Group Therapy : Group therapy sessions offer children the opportunity to share their experiences and learn from others in a supportive environment. These sessions focus on building social skills, improving communication, and fostering a sense of community.

Behavioural Interventions : We implement evidence-based behavioural interventions tailored to each child’s needs. These interventions aim to reduce problematic behaviours and encourage the development of positive behaviours through consistent and structured support.
Supportive Environment : Our homes provide a stable and nurturing environment where children feel safe and supported. This allows them to express themselves freely and work on their difficulties without fear of judgement. We prioritise creating a home-like atmosphere that promotes trust and emotional security.

Educational Support : Education is a key component of our care programme. We work closely with local schools and educational institutions to ensure that children with EBD receive the support they need to succeed academically. Our team collaborates with teachers to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and Education Health Care Plans (EHCP) that cater to each child’s learning needs and abilities. These plans are crucial to identify the specialised support the young person will need to thrive and achieve.
Family Involvement : We recognise the crucial role that families play in a child’s development. Our family support services are designed to rebuild and strengthen family relationships, offering counselling, mediation, and facilitation of family visits. We provide families with the tools and guidance they need to support their child’s emotional and behavioural development
Life Skills Training : Preparing for the future is an essential part of our care programme. We provide life skills training to help children develop the skills they need to live independently and successfully transition into adulthood. This includes budgeting, cooking, job searching, and other essential life skills.
